Thirty-four Virginia breweries have pledged their support to Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and its Resilience campaign. The collaborative project organized by Sierra Nevada founder Ken Grossman plans to brew a Resilience Butte County Proud IPA in support of relief efforts for California’s ongoing Camp Fire.
The devastating wildfire that engulfed regions of northern California on Nov. 8 has since taken 85 lives and burned well over 14,000 residences, making it the most destructive fire in state history. The Chico-based Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, along with thousands of fellow U.S. breweries, will donate 100 percent of Resilience proceeds to survivor relief.
To participate, each brewery will receive malt, hops and yeast ingredients organized by Sierra Nevada to brew Resilience at their brewery. The Resilience IPA will be poured exclusively on draft and harnesses the flavors of chinook, centennial and cascade hops along with two-row pale and caramel malts.
Brewing will begin early December, with release dates following shortly thereafter. Learn more here about participating breweries.
