Oktoberfest may be cancelled in Munich this year, but celebrations are already underway at breweries, cities and towns across the Commonwealth. Grab your lederhosen and get your fix of Bavarian-style beers, brats, music and more throughout the state. Raise a bier stein at these Oktoberfest celebrations in Virginia. Prost!

Sept. 25, Oct. 2: Old Ox Oktoberfest

Each weekend at Old Ox Brewery’s Middleburg beer garden will feature 10 traditional beers on tap, a German-inspired menu, live music, a stein holding competition and costume contest.


Sept. 25: Oktoberfest at Solace Brewing

Solace Brewing Company in Sterling has a full day of Oktoberfest fun, including live music from Lost Lederhosen, family stein races, a stein holding competition and costume contest.


Oct. 1–2: 3rd Annual Oktoberfest at Farm Brew Live

Attendees can enjoy live music, Oktoberfest brews and a special German-inspired menu at Farm Brew Live in Manassas.


Oct. 1–10: Oktoberfest Celebration at Blue Mountain Brewery

Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton celebrates Oktoberfest for 10 days with live oompah music, German food specials and the brewery’s seasonal 13.Five Oktoberfest Lagerbier on draft.


Oct. 1–2: Appalachia Oktoberfest

Celebrate Oktoberfest in downtown Appalachia with food vendors and a beer garden, along with craft vendors, hayrides, kid’s activities and more on Saturday.


Oct. 2: Oktoberfest at The Bier Garden

Oktoberfest comes to Olde Towne Portsmouth. The Bier Garden Restaurant is the perfect ambiance, complete with German food, drink and live entertainment, to make you feel like you’re in Bavaria.


Oct. 2: Hardywood Oktoberfest

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery invites you to an Oktoberfest celebration at the West Creek location in Richmond. The day-long event includes Oktoberfest brews, German food, a stein holding competition, festive polka music and more.


Oct. 2: Vienna Oktoberfest

Vienna Oktoberfest takes place on historic Church Street with an expanded beer-drinking area on the Town Green. There will be live music on three stages, food vendors, a handcrafted market, business expo area and more.


Oct. 9–10: A Barely Naked Oktoberfest

Barely Naked Brewing Company in Stafford will celebrate Oktoberfest and their third anniversary with live music, food trucks, family-friendly games, contests and beer.


Oct. 15: Oktoberfest at Wolf Hills

Wolf Hills Brewing in Abingdon will have Marzen-style lager and live music from Mountain Top Polka Band.


Oct. 23: Oktoberfest in Historic Stanardsville

This adult fall festival is a great time to enjoy beer, food and live music. There will also be a homebrewers competition, costume contest, games, attractions and more.


Oct. 24 Yorktoberfest

Sample more than 30 beers, ciders and more at this family-friendly event in Yorktown.
